Visiting Cameri Air Force Base
Cameri (NO, Italy) - 5th November 2008
Cameri Air Force Base represents the centre of excellence for overhaul
and maintenance operations of military aircrafts used by Italian Air Force;
students were led through various laboratories and facilities by technicians
who informed them about maintenance procedure of ejection seats, weapons
and conditioning systems.
The main hangar housing a few Eurofighter and Tornado undergoing maintenance operations was the most impressing part of the whole visit; lunch was offered to the visiting group at Cameri Base cafeteria, where students had the opportunity to exchange a few more words with pilots and technicians about their daily life and professional activity.
The visit was completely free for students thanks to funding provided by Fondo Attività Culturali Studentesche of Politecnico di Torino
